Relay for Life Fair today!

Come join us today at the Relay for Life Fair. Many teams have set up for this day of fun and games and of course, fund raising!

There will be rides, games, live shows, contests, fireworks! and so much more. It starts at 1pm, slt and lasts all evening. While you are there, you can also purchase many Relay items from many different vendors. All the proceeds go to SLRFL so you can treat yourself to some cool gear and donate to a great cause at the same time.

I will be hanging out with the Dixie Rebels on the Relay Cure sim. The Rebels have set up a dunk tank where you can dunk real live Lindens (the avatars, not the money!) for a small fee. So, come spend your lindens to dunk a Linden! Guaranteed hours of fun.

Tami McCoy is also auctioning off a year's worth of new hair releases. Come bid before it's too late!

Drop by and say hello!

Back but oh so busy!

Things have been pretty hectic since I got back from my trip. I answered everyone right after I got back and took care of notecards and IMs received while I was away. If, my any chance, I never got back to you, contact me again because the message probably got lost.

Work has been so busy, I haven't been in SL much at all. I pop in to check on things and answer IMs etc but as far as making new stuff, it's been pretty dead. All the free time I have right now is spent on some custom orders I got before leaving. I'm almost caught up! yay!

I did have take a little bit of time last week to try making a sculptie or two. I came up with a table and a lamp (pictured on top). Not too shabby for a first try eh? *giggle* Shush! They're no works of art but I'm still proud! I wasn't sure what to expect when I applied the sculpty texture, so anything other than a lumpy blob is good in my book.

Sadly, I haven't had time to make things for the Relay Fair tomorrow. The Poodle skirts will be there, but I really wanted to make something new. *sigh* I wish I knew where the month of May went, cause I sure didn't see it go by. Who took my month of May? Meanies!

Anywho, that's it for now. Just wanted to say a little hello and say that I'm not dead, just busy with work, home repairs, and getting ready to move as well. Ooof!

Have a nice weekend everyone.

Vacation time!

Please note that I will be away from May 7th to the 18th. Oy!

If you need to contact me, you can drop me a notecard (IMs will most likely get capped after a while) and I will reply when I get back :) You can also check my in world profile for my email addy. If it's an issue with transactions, don't forget to mention the date (if you have the transaction number, even better!). It will make it easier for me to track :) Thanks!

Have a great week everyone!

Project Open Letter

Skin: Honey-Vanilla by Lovey Darling Hair: Gooseberry by Calla

Just wanted to post about project Open Letter. You can read about the project and add your name to the list of signatures if you wish. http://www.projectopenletter.com/

I think it is a good idea. The letter is well written and to the point. I think it shows people care about SL and want to see it evolve. I take many of the "bugs" as part of the package and don't really let them affect me. But the letter got me thinking that well... perhaps it's not a good sign if things not working are just taken as a given. I don't know how many times I have told new residents "ohhh don't worry, that's just a bug, happens all the time but we find ways to work around them. No worries!" or "ohhh it's update day (or it's the weekend), those are always rough. Don't worry, it will get better"

All in all, my experience in Second Life is very positive but it can't hurt to improve the experience!

On a side note, it's Monday and I have a ton of things to do. So...no time for SL much. I do check in to reply to IMs etc, just no time for making new things right now. Plus, I can't create if I know I have other things to do, I need to have a clear head. I have so many ideas doodled on scraps of paper, just need time!

Have a nice week everyone :)

What a nice banana you have

Moldy fruit! I mean molded! Picture stolen from... errr I mean courtesy of flickr

What a nice banana you have...

Yes! That is what everyone will say when this new way cool feature comes to SL.

I was waiting to log back into SL but the region was having issues with letting go of my avatar and letting it logout (I understand, I'd have a hard time letting you go too region! *hugs*) so, to pass the time, I checked out the Second Life blog. And...

Sculpted prims! Rounded corners without having to fiddle with extra prims! The ability to shape a prim to look like something!

Read about it here and watch the video. Sooo cool.

I cannot wait to play with this. It will be a headache to master for sure but hey, I'm always up for learning new things (except scripting, I tried, it's hopeless). They didn't say when it would come out but with voice scheduled to come out (eventually), I'm guessing not anytime soon. Good, more time to learn about it! Take your time LL.

Oh, and with these new prims...when something goes wrong in SL and we start cursing, we will be able to say "dude, don't get your prim bent out of shape!" (lame late night joke for y'all. Har!)

Have a nice weekend everyone.

Oh...and on a side note, my career as a Guitar Hero sadly came to an abrupt end last night. Yep, the dreaded red ring of death started flashing on my 360. *cries* It is still under warranty but meh, by the time we get a new one, my fingers will be all rusty and I will never get to be as good as this kid now (watch him play! woah...just woah... and he's only 8!)

Rockin' out

Hola everyone!

I'm still around, just pretty busy with RL projects at the moment...so not much time to work on designs but ideas are piling up! I need a third life if I am to find time to do everything I want to do!

I have also been rockin' my little heart out playing Guitar Hero II. This game is way too addictive. I think I am even starting to like heavy metal. OY! That's my rockin' chica up there on the pic. She has mad skills! (when my fingers don't screw up the notes...)

Some Relay for Life info. The Dixie Rebels team will be hosting two fund raising events next week. The first one is a Woodstock theme on Thursday, May 3rd from 5pm-7pm SLT. The second one is a formal on Saturday, May 5th from 5-7pm STL. Who knows, maybe I will be inspired to do some 70's stuff (time permitting!). I will post a slurl later but in case I forget, the events will be held in Dixie Land Estates. Don't forget to mark your calendars!

I finally named the purple dress. It is called *Farfalla*, italian for butterfly. The four remaining dresses will be available in May. Some people have already claimed their copy so...not many left!

I hope everyone is having a nice week. Weekend soon! Hopefully, I will be able to make some new stuff this weekend (still have a few custom requests on the list, so...we'll see how things go)

Ciao all!

Sneak peek!

Skin by Lovey Darling (Honey -- Vanilla) Hair by Calla (Lotus)

Here is a sneak peek of a dress that was designed for Relay for Life. It is so new, I don't even have a name for it yet.

Only five of these will be released in this colour. The first one was auctionned yesterday during the Dixie Relayers Auction benefiting SLRFL. The other four will be released next month.

The auction was a great success. The Dixie Relayers worked their butts off to put this together and so many generous people showed up to support this great cause.

I would like to personally thank my friends Rudolph Ormsby from B-Loved, Oryx Tempel from International House of Style, Davidicus Liadis from Domovoy Designs and Ernesto Leonard from Club ArtHouse for generously donating their creations and services for the Relay auction. You guys rock!

New! Swimmin! In one billion colours!

Well, ok, not one billion colours...but it sure did feel like a billion when I was texturing 18 pairs of flip flops! Good grief. There must be an easier way!!

************************

Introducing *Swimmin*, a fun little swimwear set perfect for hitting the beach and dancing by the poolside.

The set includes:
  • 1 swimsuit top (with mesh.) Comes in undershirt and shirt layers.
  • 1 swimsuit bottom (with mesh and belt). Underpants and pants layers.
  • 1 very mini flexi skirt. The suit can be worn with or without the skirt.
  • matching flip flops with flower detail to keep your feet off the hot sand.
Disclaimer: Not responsible for freaky mesh tan lines. So, wear sunscreen! You've been warned!

Available in 18 colours.

Everything is MOD and TRANSFER. If you prefer a copy, no transfer version, just let me know and I can exchange it for you no problem.

I am trying out transfer instead of copy to see if people prefer that. Figured a swimsuit would be a good way to test the waters (no pun intended!) since it's not really a mix and match type of thing.

So! Let me know your thoughts! Love the transfer permission? Tell me! Hate it with a passion? Let me know too! Should some things be copy and others transfer? Ahhh, questions, questions. I like both personally. Being able to copy is great for making different outfits. Being able to treat your friends to your old "I'm so sick of wearing this but it would look cool on you" clothes is nice too.

Thanks for looking! Hope you enjoy the new swimsuits!

Comments and suggestions always welcomed.

From virtual to reality

Pee's Tee leaps into reality

As some of you may have noticed, I have a small display in my main store featuring some of Pee Yue's Happycat tees (the more tame ones...hehe). Happycat tees are mostly simple, white words on a black tee that definitely cater to people with a sense of humour.

Two of my favorites I can't seem to get tired of wearing are the "Waste of Bandwith" and "I made 52 cents today" tees. I also particularly like the "I have a penis" tee. It is a great little number to change into when some dude can't stop flirting and won't get the hint.

Anywho...so today, I received a link to this blog post entitled Life Imitating Second Life? Can you imagine my surprise when I saw that this very same shirt had made the leap from Second Life into...the real world!? How awesome is that? Yay Pee! I have to say I am a little jealous noone has thought about bringing some of my SL stuff into RL. I mean, how cool would toesocks be in RL?? Ah wait... nevermind...

Six new colours for the Let's Dance dress!

I have added six more colours to *Let's Dance* so you now have 9 colours to choose from! yay!

Those were all requested colours. Three are nice Spring colours, Lavendar, Pink and Teal and three more dramatic colours with Plum, Burgundy and Bright Red. I am open to more colour requests if you still can't find one you like!

Let's Dance includes:
-2 flexi skirts (one with white tulle underneath and one without)
-2 camis (one long jacket layer and one short shirt layer. Both of which can be worn with the glitch pants, so you can always add a little jacket to the dress if you wish)
- glitch pants.
- some optional flower attachments for extra prettiness (almost typed pettiness here! Oops! haha)

They are available in the main Total Betty store on Son and some of the other locations (Fashion Mode, New Designer Forum right next to Blaze and Dixie Estates).

I am working on the bathing suits. 18 colour combinations! Oy! What was I thinking... Half of those were requests, the others I just thought would look nice. The textures are done, I just need to finish uploading them, and then do the whole picture/ads thing. Bleh! Can I just throw them in a plywood cube you think? hehe

Anywho! That is all folks!

Have a nice rest of the week!

Feelin' beachy

Noooo, not bitchy...beachy!

Tonight was the beach party fundraiser for Relay over at Dixie Land Estates. Mystic did another fantastic job at transforming the place to fit the theme and a lot of people showed up to dance to the groovy beach music and donate some lindens! Yay!

Since this was a beach party, I thought it would be a good excuse to work on some bathing suits. I already have some requests for specific colours, so, if you prefer something that isn't red, blue, pink, purple, or orange, let me know and I will add it to the list. I was so much fun to design (probably because I'm sick of snow!). I even have a version to wear if you are preggers! I won't box it up, but it will be available upon request. SeaWay looked a little hot in her dress, so I just had to make her a preggie friendly version. And omg! she looked totally adorable. I just might adapt it to wear "sans belly" and make a little sun dress or somethin'. Bah! here I go again, getting carried away with more pieces. I should not wonder why it takes me forever and a day to make new things... It might come with flip flops too, but I need to work on that. A shoemaker I am not! But they worked ok for the party...

Here's a sneak peak of the set, in orange and yellow. Sorry for the brightness, I was playing with my new Photosphere and got carried away with the background.

Orange overload.

Oh! I will also be releasing more colours for the "Let's Dance" dresses. So far, I have pink, lavendar, deep plum and red (bright and burgundy) on the list of colours to add, but feel free to let me know if there are any specific colours you would like to see.

In fact, I will be adding more colours to Boppin' and Workin' too. I already worked on a grey version and I am thinking of adding a darker set of colours since pastels don't seem to be everyone's cup o' tea. Who knew?

I just need to take pics and make zee posters for everything.

By the way, if you are free this Thursday, Dixie Rebels are hosting a formal masquerade ball for Relay. So get your masks ready and come dance with the Rebels if you get the chance!

Have a nice week everyone! Or month! (seeing how good I have been at posting since the holidays...maybe I should just be safe and say "see you in 2008! lol)

What a week it has been...

A Very Happy Betty

This ^ (see picture above) is how I looked on my friend Marjorie's monitor last night. I spent the evening grinning like an idiot. Usually, I'd just call it a bug. But this time, little Betty definitely had a reason to smile. Who wouldn't be this happy with all the cool stuff that has been happening recently?!

First, getting the chance to be involved with the Relay for Life Dixie Rebels crew has been a blast. The *Poodles* outfits seem to be selling well. I am so happy everytime I see that one of them has sold or that a donation has been made. I definitely want to make more things, so if you have requests, let me know! I need ideas and always love getting suggestions from people.

Second, I got blogged y'all! Not once, but twice! That was wayyyyyy cool! I want to say a big thank you to Tigerlily Koi from the Aspire blog and Grazia Horwitz from the Second Style Fashionista blog for their kind words. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Those reviews totally made my day (well, days really, since one was last week) However, the day wasn't done yet!

I logged in yesterday to find an IM waiting for me. It was from Blaze Columbia about the New Designer Forum. *faint* I had to wait a bit to reply because I was afraid of sounding like a real dork (waiting probably did not help much.) The convo pretty much went like this on my part : "thanks!" "thank you!" "thanks again!" "ty ty" and so on.

After a short convo, I got to met up with Blaze to pick my wall. It's a big wall. A very very big wall. A huuuuge wall. All I kept thinking was...there is NO WAY I can fill this!

Woah...that's a biiiiiiiig wall

Blaze left (probably tired of hearing thanks so many friggin times lol) and I went back to set up a little later on. I started with the new dresses. Haha! The posters were so so tiny! I have gotten so used playing Tetris with my posters in tiny shops that I must admit, I was a little overwhelmed by this wall. I ended up taking everything I had ever made out of my inventory, moving stuff around a few billion times (scaling some things to make them bigger so it wouldn't look so bare) and finally came up with a layout that I was satisfied with.

And so, there it was. All my work so far. All on one big, huge, giant wall. Not much by some standards, but more than I thought I would ever have when I first started. I definitely never thought I would end up here, in this place, or get written about, or get the chance to get involved in the SLRFL.

What amazing people I have met and what a fun ride this has been so far. It's a little surreal. And way, way cool. Thanks to everyone, for the kind words, the amazing opportunities, and most of all, thanks to my Son crew, who inspire me and make me laugh every single day.

More new stuff *Poodles* for SLRFL

Poodles was created as a request by SeaWay and Mystic Brodsky for a 50's themed "Sock Hop" fundraiser for the SL Relay for Life held by the Dixie Rebels Team on February 25th 2007.

The fundraiser, as well as the outfits, were a great success. Yay!

Seeing how hard the Dixie Rebels (as well as all the other teams out there) are working at making SLRFL a success, I wanted to try and do my part to help them reach their goals. So, the idea to sell the outfits as a way to raise money came about.

Donate 300L$ (or more) to get your very own *Poodles* outfit. Just pay the appropriate SLRFL vendor in the colour of your choice (pink or purple). 100% of the proceeds go to Relay for Life.

The outfit includes:

-2 flexi skirts (one with poodle detail / one without for those who are allergic to dogs)
-2 short sleeved tops (one with the skirt belt/one without so you can wear it with other things)
-1 flexi neck scarf matching the skirt
- socks and prim ankle socks with poodle detail
-an optional belt on the mesh skirt layer so you can wear the skirt on it's own with another top.

Everything is MOD and TRANSFER. Perfect for giving as a gift! Or even sharing half the outfit with a friend. What the heck. Go nuts! Everyone gets a piece! (I'd hate to be the one stuck with the belt though...booooring!)

Both Poodle outfits are available at Total Betty Boutique's main location on Son and at Total Betty's in Fashion Mode.

New stuff! *Let's Dance*

Oy! Finally something new!

After much cursing and wearing crazy prims for the past three weeks, I finally got this flexi outfit to behave the way I wanted. yay!

Introducing "Let's Dance", a fun flexi "dance all night" knee-lenth dress which includes:

-2 flexi skirts (one with white tule under the skirt and one "sans" tule)
-2 camis (a long one and a short one)
-optional prim flowers detail

It is available in three colours: Menthe, Chocolat and Deep Skies.

Everything is COPY/MOD/NO TRANSFER.

Available at the Main store on Son and in select Total Betty locations.

Hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day. GF/BF, significant other or not. It's a good time to wear pink and wear kitsch heart accessories. Rejoice!

"Strawberry Dots" trio which includes a bra, one pair of panties and a matching tank top. Tops come in all three layers, panties in two layers. 1L$ until the 15th (EDIT, I suck at sales...I can rarely bring myself to raise back the prices...so...these will remain at 1L$ forevah too! Yay!) at Total Betty's Main store in Son and in the newest location, Fashion Mode

Come grab your free flaming trash can! No purchase necessary. It's free, free, free. It's trans too, so grab one for a friend and get the fire burnin'.

That's what friends are for

Zombie Bait. Hours of fun...

What do you do when you are good friends with a couple of gun loving chicks who just bought a zombie spawning pentagram? Well...you sacrifice yourself and stand in the pentagram (of course!), so you can spawn a billion zombies and dodge bullets while your friends try out their new toy.

I cannot count the number of times I have died these past few weeks, all for the great cause of gun testing.

Sadly, I only own a pop gun...so being zombie bait is pretty much the only option I have. I'm surprised I have not turned into a zombie myself after being bitten so many times.

I have been working on some stuff between killing sessions but frankly, SL has been such a pain lately, that getting shot at has started to sound more appealing than cursing at prims and textures that won't load.

I have a new store build in mind, but I must first psych myself up for a fun evening of bouncing prims, rebounding textures and stuff just vanishing into oblivion when you click it before I can get started.

Look out for some inexpensive undies/bras/tanks coming out soon. Just simple, cute stuff between more "serious" releases.

Ciao for now!

New things! Mini skirts

Well, I just looked at the archives on the side of this blog and it's sad. Poor January has been badly neglected. I actually have drafts that were never published...so if you see posts that pop out with last week's dates etc, it's just me putting things up to date.

Let's start with the good stuff!

One of those forgotten things are new mini skirts! They were designed exclusively for Illuminare.

Available in 5 colours (blue, green, red, orange and purple). They're short, they're plaid, they're flexi! Mod, copy, no trans.

All 5 skirts are available only at the Illuminare SON location. They're on the third floor. Grab some groovy bracelets or some tees while you are there!

It's been a year already...

It's been a year already since my last post! ;)

I know, I know...I'm getting the blogging disease everyone gets where they stop posting for a while. Luckily, it's not a chronic case so here I am, posting something new!

The last week has pretty much been me still hanging out with the friendly neighbors and revamping the store layout.

I also finished this latest outfit. I've been tinkering with it a little here and there for weeks now. It's not a complex design, but there was always a little "something here", "something there" that wasn't quite right. And then, trying to decide on the colour. It was brown originally. Now it is every colour but brown. hehe

Alphabet is a flexi skirt/sweater set available in 12 colours. Yes, twelve! Each colour set can be purchased individually or in 4 colour "packs". They are copy and mod (yay!) and no transfer.

There is a special promotion when you purchase Alphabet in-world (either at Total Betty's in !Matrix Mall! or in the Son Village Shopping Mall location). Get an extra sweater customized for free with each purchase of an Alphabet skirt/sweater set. You will get a voucher with your purchase which you can redeem for a free sweater customized with your own initial (or another letter if you wish).

Here is the slurl for the main store: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Son/175/209/27/

That's all folks! Hope you like this latest release. Comments/suggestions welcomed as always.

Have a nice week everyone!
