Model for a day

Victor Brody's Leather Leopard Jacket

Had fun last night modeling for my sim-mate Vic! He came up to me the other day with his latest creation, a sweet leather leopard jacket and asked if I wouldn't mind posing for some pics. Hell yeah! Totally vintage. Check out the glasses too! Another one of Vic's awesome creations. Felt like a total rock star with this outfit.

The shoot was fun. Not that it requires a lot of sweat and tears to stand there and let someone else take the pictures. I could get used to this!

You can check out Vic's gear in his shop in the Son Village Shopping Mall.

Here's the slurl y'all!
Victor's Vintage. Avatars, Clothes and More!, Son (81, 142, 27)

I promise new stuff really soon. Holidays have been filled with too much social and not enough workin'! People are just too darn friendly in my new neighborhood. I really lucked out with my new sim-mates. We all moved in pretty much at the same time in Son Village/Mall so we are all busy getting to know each other and snooping on everyone's builds (and designing things for our stores.)

Hope everyone has a great New Year's Eve!

Reminder. Free dress offer ends soon!

Just a little reminder that the free cocktail dress offer with every purchase of the Happy Hour business set is ending on December 30th! The 3 piece dress is also available for individual purchase at 150L$ if you don't want to buy the other full set.

I also listed my stuff on SL Boutique! You can now shop online or buy gifts for others with one simple click! Prices are the same as in the in-world shops, including the stuff on sale and the After Hour promo.

Toodles!

Holiday madness

Tiny bubbles...

Whew! The holiday madness is finally dying down. All the shopping, eating, visiting and singing fun made it difficult to spend much time working on designs or even just hanging out.

I did get to hang out with my new neighbors a bit. Things always seem to turn into a party everytime Marj and Vic are around. hehe Last night was no exception. A bunch of us ended up dancing the night away in my loft. Dance balls, spotlights and bubbles materialized out of thin air and the party was on!

Even with all the fun neighborhood distractions, I was able to finish putting the shop together. It is now open to the public. Take some time and visit the other local shops. There is everything from furniture to clothes to art posters and cool avatars over at Victor's place. I think I will add a little neighborhood section on here to showcase the various things available on the island and maybe even share some of our crazy antics.

Still some great spots available for rent! Come take a peek and grab a spot before they are all gone! Not only will you take top notch service, you also get some pretty awesome peeps as neighbors!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Movin' on up!

New boutique under construction on the Son sim.

I've been breathing in saw dust and paint fumes for the past 2 days. Yep! I'm busy with a new store! Yay!

After talking to Santa, and talking to a few people who told me his word wasn't as good as he claimed, I figured it would be better if I took the matters into my own hands.

I packed my bags and left on a very long journey through the grid, in search of the perfect spot. Lucky for me, the perfect spot ended up being one of the first places I found.

I was staring at an empty lot, admiring the view, when the landlord flew by and made the big mistake of asking if I had any questions. Had he known it was going to result in a two day interrogation, I think he would have kept flying. The dude seriously has the patience of a god. He really went out of his way to answer any concerns I might have had. You rock Rudolf!

It has been a couple of days since I started settling in and OMG! I couldn't be happier with my decision. The landlord is awesome and so are the tenants. I have had the pleasure of meeting most of them and they all rock. Seriously.

The neat thing about this sim is that it's brand spankin' new so we are all settling in at the same time. I love the layout. It has a nice open feel with lots of space left between each lot so we're not all into each other's hair.

There are still lots of spots available for rent if you are looking for a nice place to open a store/office. Drop by and take a look! Feel free to come bug me in my little shop if you have any questions and Rudolf's not around. I am there a lot, moving things around and mostly cursing at prims.

Here's the slurl http://slurl.com/secondlife/Son/175/209/27/

This will drop you near by store. I'm just too lazy to go check what the other slurl is for the center of the island ;)

Have a nice week everyone!

Dear Santa

Santa gives me the thumbs up

I was exploring the world with my super secret friend when we ran into Santa. I never realized Santa was so big! We didn't chat much. He mostly did the listening and I did the talking.

I asked him for a new store (and maybe I got my wish! but I'm not saying anything yet! Shhh)

I really love my little shop and I am not giving it up. It is my first store so I'm attached to it. However, there is one problem. It's small (plus, I have big posters and I love white space). I don't have a lot of things but I've already had to call on my mad Tetris skills to place the last release (and to be honest, I'm not THAT good at Tetris. I'm OK for the first few levels and then I simply suck, so I fear the next release will end up on the ceiling, facing the wrong way and probably busting halfway through the roof)

I also asked Santa for something no one had ever asked for before.

I asked him to please take away a gift. He was a little surprised by my request to say the least.

This gift box has been on my shop floor for over two weeks. I can't
move it, I can't take it, I can't delete it. It's just there, right under a display, flashing it's "Yay! Prize!" floating text at me every time I enter the shop. People ask me, what is it? What's in it? How come I can't take the prize? I don't know! I didn't put it there.

Stupid gift box. Making people dream of free things and sorely disappointing everyone who comes across it. Making them feel like somehow, they are not worthy of a gift and killing their Christmas cheer with it's cold, pointless existence.

In design news, I am making some sweaters are the moment. Nothing fancy but I'm in the mood for sweaters, so sweaters is what I'm making! I'm planning to have them out early this week. No preview yet, sorry! Soon though!

Anywho! Those are my ramblings for the day. I shall go back to the needle work. I have a lot of stitching left to do.

Happy Sunday y'all!

*NEW* Happy Hour and After Hour

After working through the many delays (of the "out-of-my-control" kind as well as just plain "I-was-out-having-fun" kind), here are a couple of new releases.

Happy Hour is the second outfit in the Workin' series.

It is a 8 piece mix and match business set in "Slate" colour.

Perfect for attending business meetings and hitting happy hour. Jazz up your business suit with the little neck scarf. Take off the jacket, tie up the sexy scarf around your hips and go celebrate the latest business deal. Trying to close a deal but they won't budge? Show a little leg with the skirt and untie your jacket ;) Bubba won't stop staring at your boobs and hitting on you? Give him the cold shoulder and button up!

Included are:
2 jackets (opened and buttoned up)
1 pair of pants
1 silk sleeveless V-neck top
1 short prim skirt (non flex)
1 pair of glitch pants for the skirt
1 neck flexi scarf
1 long flexi scarf/sash

Purchase Happy Hour before December 30th and you will receive the cocktail dress After Hour for free!
1 regular skirt matching the silk top
1 sparkly tule prim skirt add-on

The After Hour cocktail dress is also available for individual purchase (3 piece set -1top-1skirt-1prim skirt)

All items are COPY/MOD, NO TRANSFER and they are available for purchase at Total Betty's in !Matrix Mall! http://slurl.com/secondlife/Porcupine/98/145/117/

Attack of the Cosby Clones

Bill tells me where I can stick it.

Woah! What was I saying about things happening every time I try to finish up stuff?

I was in my little house, packing some boxes for the store when Bill Cosby showed up and flipped me the bird. He didn't knock or anything. Bill just waltzed right into my living room, along with about a billion Jell-O -puddin'-pop-eating clones of himself and told me where to stick it.

Not nice Bill. I liked your show when it was on TV.

I hung on to dear second life, afraid I might crash at any moment, frantically trying to save a notecard I had so carefully worded and really didn't want to lose when the Bills just vanished. Poof! They left just as quickly as they came. Typical males!

Things look ok now. Still standing in my living room. I should log out anyway, it's getting late. Here are a couple more pics of the Bills for your viewing pleasure.

Darn. Now I want Jell-O!

Bugs!

Workin' with bugs in SL

Why is it that, without fail, every single time I want to finish up something, SL is full of bugs? Textures that don't stick, missing bodies, prims that won't attach no matter how many times I try. The list could go on.

The latest craze this week: prims that just poof out of existence when I select them. Oh joy! That's fun. Spend all this time making a prim skirt...attach it...make some adjustments and BAM! 3 prims just vanish giant gaps all over the place.

I have to say that at least, SL bugs are rarely repetitive and that each new update is great for surprising me with more ways to sabotage my work. So I must give them props for being creative in that department.

In other news, my quiet little neighborhood seems to be getting busier by the day. When I first moved there, it was me, some trees, a little shop and a couple of really nice homes far in the distance. It didn't last too long though but that's to be expected in this ever changing landscape that is mainland.

The first thing to pop up was this giant cube behind me. That issue was easily taken care of by replacing some windows with pictures of gorgeous ocean views. Unfortunately, the pictures don't keep people's chat from seeping through my walls and man...do I wish they did. All I'm gonna say is "thank gawd for the mute function!"

Second thing to pop up is a big store in the front of my house. It's a pretty nice looking build however. It does corner me in a little but it's not like I ever hang out outside my house anyway. Not enough space for a front yard, or any type of yard for that matter, on a 512 parcel.

Then, two days ago...I'm standing on my pose stand fiddling with things when, all of a sudden, POOF! a gazillion peeps are right outside my window standing on the parcel next to mine. I was surprised since that parcel had always had permanent ban lines and had always been empty. Well, empty is was no more. Somehow, the parcel got turned into First Land. Oy! I swear, 20 people, in like one swoop, teleported in to look at the land, probably within minutes of it being listed. Sadly, some friends of mine who have been trying to find First Land weren't online. It would have been cool to have them move in next door.

The land was purchased within a matter of minutes. Then, it was sold, in another matter of minutes, to some real estate dude. It was then resold, in the next few hours to another real estate dude, each time of course, increasing the price of the parcel. Holy! I'm anxious to log back in to see if it was re-re-re-resold to an even bigger fish. I am half kicking myself for not IMing the first person to offer them X amount more than the first buyer. The extra prims would've been nice but I really didn't think about it. I thought "hey! I'm getting a neighbor! Hope they are nice!" Fool!

It did make me realize how lucky I was in getting my First Land. I actually took the time to shop around for a bit! That was only about four, five weeks ago. I probably ran into 2-3 other people (max!) also looking for First Land. I visited 5-6 parcels a couple of times before making my final decision and taking the plunge. Fast forward to today and woah! Seems that you need to just grab whatever is out there and grab it fast if you want First Land. Crazy!

Anyway, those are my ramblings for today. I have some posters to make now that SL is allowing me to wear skirts again. Better be quick before I lose that privilege!

Ciao!

In progress

Last week's crazy schedule is finally over. Got some much needed sleep this weekend and I did manage to make a little something.

I was in the mood for a nice pair of slacks in neutral colours. Here is a little preview of what it looks like so far. The outfit in the picture is not 100% done it's close. Not 100% sure I like the back.

The set will include one pair of slacks with matching jacket, one halter top and a really long flexi scarf which is worn as a belt.

I will be finishing/packaging this set in the next couple of days. I have not forgotten the garters and stockings, just need to find the time to package them which hopefully will be very soon!

Comments and suggestions are always welcome, so don't be shy!

Have a great week everyone!

Sunny Side Up

*Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz* Sooo tired... I am having a busy week with work (ie, gettin up way too bloody early, coming home too bloody late, lots of blabbing, dining and problem solving) so me poor little brain is fried at the moment. I can feel it sizzling.

I am postponing creating anything new until zee weekend when I will be able to resume my late night creative sprees (any attempts at creating anything right now would result in looking like I was finger painting...with my toes...while wearing really big socks. And that is in a best case scenario!) My stockings and garters are done, but I haven't had much time to look at them in SL to make sure they are ready to be sent into the world. (I blame friendly people inviting me places. Yes. Yous. Y'all know who you are! *grin*)

Bought some new skates last night in SL. I forgot to take pics though . They are way too awesome. Such a simple, fun activity. I love to just skate around and listen to all the Christmas tunes.

I'm going to try and take some pics of the garters etc tonight, before I pass out. It was also suggested that some of my things should be sold individually as well as in sets to allow easy mix and matching, so I will try and take pics of those as well and try the singles idea out.

*Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz* Eep. I'm not sure I'm gonna make it passed the log in screen tonight.

G'nite peeperinos! It's cold outside and me bed is calling.

Oops!

I realized yesterday, while getting dressed, that my Charmin' "longer" top in black (Night) was the same length as the "shorter" one. I am not sure if I simply changed it after packaging everything or if I was half asleep at the mouse or what. Just to make sure, I went ahead and sent everyone who purchased the black dres a little note and a new top.

I am pretty sure I got everyone but if you have purchased the Charmin' dress in black (Night) and didn't receive a folder from me last night, drop a note or an IM to Betty Barracuda and I will fix it.

The longer top is not a huge deal longer (it's as long as a shirt can get) but it is still nice to have to wear with pants and such. Looks really nice with the jacket and a pair of jeans or black pants.

I corrected the boxed items last night in the store so anything sold on December 5th and later will have the correct items.

That's all!

Garters and stockings

Betty's four modeling looks.

First, I would just like to thank everyone who sent me a little message in SL to say you liked the latest release! Yay! It really makes me happy to hear you like it!

I got a couple of requests for garter belts and stockings for the Charmin' lingerie, so I am working on those at the moment. I would have been done yesterday but...I ended up hanging at the Three Lions Pub and dancing the night away. I did get to test my "draft" version last night and it looks really nice with the set. Might throw in another set of smaller panties for good measure (looks like the number of items with this release is still rising)

I will get some people to test the garters and stockings for me and get their opinion before I release them. I will most likely keep them separate and charge a tiny extra since not everyone wants them and I like keeping things flexible. If any of you prefer those big/everything boxes, let me know! I am learning as I go.

Still unsure if I'm pricing things correctly (Too high? Too low? Just right?) and packaging things properly. I never know if I should make uber packages or sell individually etc. The individual stuff would be a little hard in my store. I am already running out of space! The display posters look nice but they're a little big for the store. I just don't want to go with vendors. I hate waiting for them to load images when I shop, so I don't really want to put my stuff in them unless I don't have any other choice. I guess I will have to make the displays a little smaller...or put the older stuff in vendors. Or move. I like my shop though! It's tiny but it feels quaint (I admit, the ceilings could be a little higher but other than that, I just love it)

I think I will go with another dress/lingerie set next. I enjoy making those (even though I said I didn't want to see lace ever again, all that fiddling is really worth it in the end.) Plus, people seem to really dig them.

Thanks again for the nice comments!

Later gator!

Charmin' Lingerie Set

The Charmin' Lingerie set is the perfect complement to the Charmin' dress set (what a coincidence!)

The 3 piece set consists of a full-support bra (no getting black eyes on the dance floor with this baby!), a pair of panties (think a bit like boy shorts but with lace details) and a matching mini flexi prim skirt with more lace detail.

The bra was designed to match the top of the dress outfit to a tee, so you can wear both without having to worry about annoying bra straps showing.

The set is available again in four holiday colours, Holly, Rouge, Night and Bleu Nuit (blue is a holiday colour isn't it?)

Everything is Copy, Mod, NO TRANSFER. If you want to purchase it as a gift, drop a note or an IM to Betty Barracuda and I will swiftly arrange things for you.

Sold at Total Betty's in !Matrix Mall! http://slurl.com/secondlife/Porcupine/98/145/117/

I also welcome comments! If you have suggestions, ideas, critiques, random thoughts, don't be shy and drop me a note!

Happy Sunday everyone and thanks for looking!

Introducting the Charmin' set!

Yes, the new release is finally out of my head and on the shelves (well..walls really.) Weeeee!

The first Charmin' set (see pic above) has five pieces and is available in four colours (Holly, Bleu Nuit, Holly and Rouge.)

The set includes: 2 tops, 1 jacket, 1 regular skirt and 1 flexi prim skirt add-on.

The tops come in two different lengths (the shorter one was designed to line up with the lace detail on the back of the skirt, the longer one gives the extra option of wearing the top by itself). The jacket is short with 3/4 length sleeves.

Everything is mod/copy, NO TRANSFER (sorry for the caps!). If you want to give it as a gift, I will be more than happy to package it for you, just send a note of an IM to Betty Barracuda.

Colour shown: Holly. Regular skirt with short top.

Sold at Total Betty's in !Matrix Mall! http://slurl.com/secondlife/Porcupine/98/145/117/

Blast!

First, let's start things off with something happy. Here is a sneak peek of the new release! (don't pay attention to my giant freaky hand, not sure what's up with that...I do not have man hands usually.) Seen here is the full outfit (short jacket worn on top of a sleeveless top and optional prim skirt worn on top of a regular skirt.)

I so wanted to be done tonight but...I was a victim of *spooky echoey voice* "the Grid".

If I used foul language, tonight would have been a good time to swear. Ha! Who am I kidding? If you had landed next to me this evening, you would have thought yourself at sea, hanging with a bunch of burly sailors.

It is very hard to keep a schedule when SL decides it wants to have a little fun with you (aka draw on your last nerve.) It is bad enough that I have a nasty habit of uploading the wrong size, or forgeting a layer here and there, I do not need help screwing up.

I was all set to finalize my things, but got stuck while on a little shopping spree. Not only could I not teleport home to finish my stuff, it ended up costing me mucho money (what else is there to do when you can't leave a store but shop?) It was worth it though. Good deals!

After SL estimated that I had reached my shopping quota for the month, I was able to go home. Hooray! My joy was quickly cut short when I realized that attachments did not work. Nothing would attach. Zero. Ziltch. Nada. Wahhh. This would not be such a big issue, except that I needed pictures of my two prim skirts. I swear, it feels like I have been working on this forever. Damn you glitches! ;)

Things finally went back to normal and I was able to finish my pics. Yay for small victories! I will post more pictures tomorrow.

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

Chuggin' along

My latest project has taken a life of its own. It has snowballed into wayyy too many pieces. It needs to be stopped. Now. *put the pen down...step away from the computer*

Good grief. What started out as a two-piece outfit has ballooned into...wait...let me count...one, two, three...TEN pieces. And I could've kept going. But a girl's gonna know when to say "enough!" (well, if I knew how to say that, I wouldn't have kept going til ten I guess.)

Let's see, there's two regular skirts, two prim skirts, a bra, panties, three tops and one jacket. In four colours. They all mix and match for a dressier look with a lot of detail or a simple but still classy look.

More pieces should be good right? Wrong! Now I'm trying to package it all. I'm going to end up with a 50 foot billboard just to be able to show everything. My shop is not that big! I will most likely go with several options like the bra/panties/mini skirt in one box, the dress/shirt/jacket/prim skirt option in another box (maybe the fancy one in one box and the regular one in another) and then an all out "I-want-everything-so-give-me-a-discount" box.

I have to say that I am really happy with the results though and reactions have been good. Yay! Thank goodness or I would've had to jump off a cliff if it had turned out butt ugly.

As I said in my last post, the release has been postponed until sometime tomorrow since SL was acting wonky last night. I had no body and my bud Tobias was stuck as a butchy looking chick.

Miss Tobias
Sharp dresser. Low maintenance.
Enjoys football and other things.
Leave a comment if you're interested
and I'll hook you up!

So that is all folks. I'm going to get some sleep and finish up everything tomorrow!

She's lost her head!

Looks like my plans will be pushed back a day or so if I don't get my body back tonight in SL. I was ready to take some fabu pics for the posters but whoops! I ain't got no body! I'm just a pair of insanely high heels (which sorta look like boots in the pic...but really, they're heels) and a blonde wig. Thank goodness for attachements or I wouldn't be able to find myself at all on screen.

Who needs an update with friend features that allow you to hide when you can just be completely invisible, even from your own self. Now, that's like super uber stealth mode! Let them try to map me now! Arrh.

So anywho, unless my body decides to make an appearance sometime soon, pics will have to wait until tomorrow. Just in case though, I've been trying to hand draw my posters (see picture above). I'm still not too sure if I like the results... What do you think? Think it will sell?

Oh wells, time to go tinker with other things I guess.

Ciao ciao!

It's raining men!

So there I am, hidden in my little quiet corner of the world, working on some stuff, when I see something move in the corner of my virtual eye. I zoom in to see what all the ruckus is about and WOAH! Do I get an eyefull.

The latest trend in my neighborhood seems to be naked men falling from the sky. Right in front of my window. At least once a day, I see some random dude crash into my bushes, most of the time totally naked, and fully equipped (if ya know what I mean.) I don't know if I built my home on some exhibitionist portal or if there's a nympho living up in the sky above me who keeps throwing men overboard when she's done with them, but holy! They're all over the place!

Well at least, it keeps me entertained while I'm testing out clothes but I do have to say one thing : Someone's schlong should definitely NEVER be bigger than let's say...hmm a leg. Good grief. Sorry boys but bigger does not always equal better (unless you're looking for a good laugh, then go right ahead)

Just my little quip and friendly tip for the day. Now, if you could please put those pants back on and put that engine away if you end up in my bushes, I'd appreciate it. I'm trying to work here ;)

Couldn't just make a t-shirt now could you?

Here I am, posting something so people don't think I have vanished. I have been slaving over CS2, finishing some new stuff.

After the thrill of releasing my first three outfits, and the relief of having people actually buy something (whew!), I was not too sure where to go next. I spent so much energy finding a shop to rent, packaging, figuring out permissions, setting up the blog etc, that when the store finally opened, I was like yay!!!! It's done! But hmmm ah yes, I need more things now...

Back to Photoshop I went and I have been there ever since. I thought something cute with lace detail would be nice. Well, it better be nice after all that time spent "dot dot dotting" my way to bleeding eyes and carpal tunnel to make the bloody lace! It was well worth it though, I really like how it came out.

Here's a tiny little sneak peek!

That's pretty much what I have been up to the past few days. If all goes well, it should be in store by Thursday latest. Outfit is done, just needs some final tweaking here and there and then, it's poster/packaging time.

Next time, I am making plain white t-shirts. I would have one billion t-shirts by now with the time it took me to make that lace... Bah, but it wouldn't be as much fun.

Til later peeperinos!

How to: Strut your stuff with style!

In my last post, I was saying how versatile Struttin' could be. Well, dear readers, let me demonstrate!

Here are a few pictures of how one would go about adapting Struttin' for virtually ANY occasion.

To start, the clean, simple look of no frills....

One frill screams feminine yet down to earth...

Two: Sexy but approachable...

Three: Demure yet alluring.

Sans shirt: Use at your own risk!

Frilly overload! The sky's the limit!
So...as you can see, the possibilities are litterally ENDLESS! The only limits to how many looks you can have is your imagination!

I would love to see what looks you came up with! So send me a pic and I maybe you can be featured right here on this blog! Wow!

Oh! Before I forget, Happy Thanksgiving y'all!

Struttin'

Last but not least, let me introduce the latest design, Struttin'!

Available in four colours (Cloudy Day, Green with Envy, Cheap Wine and my favorite, Poyple!), Struttin' comes with one off the shoulder top, a pair of black capris and lots and lots of frilly bits matching the colour of the shirt. But that's not all! Buy the outfit and get one extra set of frills in black.

Struttin' is as versatile as you can get! Wear all the frills and you're ready to hit the clubs. Wear some frills and you are ready for a day of shopping (or drinking tea...or whatever you do when you wear partial frills). Take them all off and bam! Casual city! Perfect for running errands or cleaning the house and still feel sexy! And for extra naughtiness, try wearing only the frills! Oolala! Ok...maybe not.

Outfit is COPY and NO TRANFER. Frilly bits are MOD as well (aren't they always?)

Available at select locations only (like this one --> rrright... HERE!)

Workin'

In the same retro inspired line as Boppin', Workin is a more casual/business look for when you need to take care of business without leaving your feminine side at home! Who said you couldn't be professional AND girly?

Workin' comes with a jacket, which can be worn with or without the skirt and...well yes, a skirt! The skirt was designed to match the jacket and make it look like a jacket should (i.e. on TOP of the skirt, NOT tucked IN the skirt! I mean, who EVER tucks in their jackets in their skirts? Uh? I would like to know!) I also threw in some matching shorts for good measure.

Workin' is available also in four gorgeous pastel colours (Lemon Meringue, Pistachio, Rose Bonbon and Bleu Ciel).

All the pieces are COPY and MOD, NO TRANSFER.

Available at Total Betty locations all over SL, mainly...well this one store right here http://slurl.com/secondlife/Porcupine/98/145/117/

Til next time!

Boppin'

Behold, my first design, Boppin'! Well, my first completed piece anyway. No need to show you the stuff that didn't make it.

Boppin' is a retro inspired design available in four fun, lovely colours. I must've been hungry when I named them because they all have food names (except for the blue one...couldn't thing of any food what was light blue!)

You can chose between Lemon Meringue, Pistachio, Rose Bonbon and Bleu Ciel. I'll let you figure out which is which!

The shirt is made up of two parts. One part for the top (duh, really Betty?!) and one part for the flared part under the belt. The latter can be adjusted for a straighter, narrower look, or for an all out poofy and curvaceous look! It comes with a matching big prim skirt (non flex) and matching shorts to cover your unmentionables when you sit and such (should you want to cover them that is!)

The outfit is COPY, NO TRANSFER. The prim skirt and flared bottom part of the shirt are also MOD. All those goodies can be purchased at my store located here http://slurl.com/secondlife/Porcupine/98/145/117/

Ciao!

Now open!

Yay! Finally! The SL Gods decided to be kind to me and let me finish setting up without too many glitches. Got everything packed in my boxes and they're ready to go! I think I remembered everything! Seems everytime I think I'm done, I remember something else to put in! Landmark! Thank you notes! Picture of outfit! Done, done, done! Whew :)

Posted a classified tonight. I was floored by the amount of money some people can put on those things. I, myself, chose to go for the bottom of the barrel shoppers. You know, the ones who hopefully scroll allllllll the way down the list to see what neat things they can find down there. *jumps up and down and shouts* "Down here!!! I'm down here!!"

So...here's the slurl for my little place! Total Betty store in Matrix Mall, Porcupine (98/145/117)

Come check it out! And if you have comments/suggestions etc, please drop me a note!

Cheers!

Opening tomorrow!

If all goes well...

I thought I would be able to open today, but seeing SL wasn't cooperating tonight, I had to push things back one day. Not like it's disturbing any one's schedule. This will be, how shall I say, a very under the radar opening. No fireworks, no big DJs, no parades. Just a few outfits on the walls and some finger crossing. ;)

Kinda hard to call anything "big" when you only have a few things on the wall anyway and when no one's heard about you! It would probably go something like this...

Girl #1: "I only see three outfits! Is the rest of the stuff rezzing for you guys?"
Me: "There are only three outfits..."
Boy #56: "Who is this chick? Anyone know her?"
Me: "Oh, I don't know many people. I tend to just stay in my house most of the time."
Fashion Girl #22 "Ewwww! An unknown designer! To think I clicked her display!: *runs off crying*

Setting up is pretty much completed. First, I have to redo some of the work I tried to do tonight, only to realize that I was working while being offline or something. I thought the mini map looked odd. Also, I couldn't move but hey, that's not gonna stop me! I'm crafty! I can zoom in pretty good with my uber mouse skills! And so, I went about my business of setting up the last displays only to find everything I had worked on reverted to sad little plywood cubes scattered all over my floor after logging back in. Fiddlesticks!!! Note to self : Red mini map = stop working!

Drop by tomorrow for some clothing goodness! Weeee!

Ciao babes!

Got my shop!

Weeee! Found the perfect little spot to open my store! I couldn't have hoped for a nicer place, I just love it. It isn't huge or anything but it's exactly what I needed. I will open very soon! Just letting the paint dry and sewing the last few stitches on the clothes!

The store is located in !Matrix Mall! in Porcupine.

I'm so excited!

Almost there!

So far, I have three outfits that are complete. Lots of bits and pieces I keep discarding because they don't turn out exactly how I want them. My poor inventory was a mess! Took a break to organize everything so I don't lose my mind looking for things!

I figure I can try and open my shop soon. Won't be before next week though, since I won't be home this week. And well, I still need to decide if I am opening my store on my parcel, or renting it out. Part of me is seriously leaning towards a rental. I have grown fond of my little hidden corner. Plus, I have barely enough prims as it is! Adding a shop there and not only will I lose my designing bat cave but I will also end up having to go to a sandbox to design anything requiring a prim! I likes me home...

I am holding back posting pics until I have the shop ready to open!

Next week people, next week!

Yay!

( I sure am talking about a lot of things and not posting much in the new things department. .I think my first post was a bunch of hooey and I'll be poluting this blog with random banter after all. Maybe once I actually have clothes to show, I can shut the hell up!)

So many details!

Woah. Designing my clothes wasn't this much work! I swear, this is more work than my RL business. Need a logo. Ok, done. Need boxes and posters to show the stuff. Ok, done. Don't forget permissions. Snap! Which to choose? Mod? Copy? Trans?

I'm trying to see what people like best, but so far it's pretty much a toss up between trans fans and copy fans. I myself prefer copy so I can find things more easily. How frustrating is it when you have this one item you just love, only to lose it in a sea of folders because you forgot where you put it and can't remember the name? And then, how fun is it to find the perfect outfit you just know a friend will love only to find out you it's no transfer?

As far as mod, anything prim is a given. Noone has the exact same shape and nothing sucks more than seing our poor body being impaled by misplaced prims!

Anywho, I think I shall go with copy and some mod. Seems to be more popular overall. If anyone wants to give a gift, I can always arrange something.

I'm happy with my logo and posters so far. I need more model poses though. My selection is rather limited!

I will hopefully start posting things soon. Waiting for everything to be good and ready. No sense posting things that can't be found right? A store would help!

I've been busy filling my brain with classes inside SL. So much fun! Scripting class wasn't so fun at first but I got a really cool teacher and, while I won't be writing any scripts anytime soon, I can now at least understand what's in them.

For now, I shall just stick to plain boxes and old school designs.

Toodles!

Yay! I'm second best!

What more could a girl dream of than winning second place in a place called Second Life. Yay!

I decided to enter a Show and Tell contest at New Citizens Plaza to see how I would do. I almost chickened out at the last minute. The host was late and I figured it was a sign to go back into my cave. I didn't, however. I bravely stood in front of a crowd of...oh must have been thousands (at least!) and showed off my first completed outfit. After the initial fear of being booed off the stage (I'm glad noone had rotten fruits in their inventory that day!), I entertained *cough* the crowd with my charming banter and graceful ways by presenting "this skirt I've been working on".

My way with words apparently worked as I came in second (I knew I should've voted for myself! damn!) and won myself a cool 150L$. Chaching! Shoutout to Tobias for kicking my butt and making me stay to enter the contest. Thanks dude!

The money sure came in handy after all the messed up textures I had uploaded. I sort of forgot to resize them the first time. Good grief! I could've clothed 100-foot women with those textures (and their offsprings for generations to come.) My panties alone crashed sims everywhere I went (even before I finished teleporting!) Oh well. Live and learn. Right? Or is it waste money and learn?

Anywho. I just wanted to show off cause it's my blog and because it made my day! Now I can claim my stuff's award winning! Yeah baby!

Au revoir!

Welcome to Total Betty's Awesome Blog

Ok, so the title may be a little misleading. Is it truly an awesome blog? This remains to be seen I guess. But I needed a title and it sounded catchy.

What can you expect to find here you ask? Well this is quite easy to answer. This is where I shall post my brand spanking new designs. Hopefully, this will be a couple of times a week. There will be no silly banter, no rants about stuff, no deep thoughts. Only new clothes! Yay! (if I ever get the blog bug to start wanting to say things, I will just link to a new blog so people who want to read it can do so at their leisure, and hardcore shoppers can stick to business without having to weed through posts about my dead cat to find the latest dress they must have)

I guess I should say a little about myself. Well, let's see. I recently started designing clothes in Second Life. I didn't have much money, and didn't have the patience to shop endlessly to find something I wanted, so I thought "hey! You can make your own stuff Betty!". And so I did. After getting positive comments and having peeps suggest I should give opening a store a try, I figured "what the heck! let's do this!"

I admit, I'm nervous as all hell. It's one thing to strut along wearing stuff I made and feeling pretty good about making my own stuff. It is quite another to throw it all out there for people to buy. Are the posters ok? Will the clothes fit like they are supposed to? Will I turn some sexy babe into a walking fashion disaster? Eep! I sincerely hope not.

And then there's the pricing. Good grief. How much is it all worth? In one corner, I have people tell me "too cheap = people thinking it's bad quality". On the other corner, I'm thinking "too expensive and people will think I've lost my mind and that I'm a crook". So I tried to aim for a middle ground. I guess I will learn as I go and adjust things along the way.

I am working on finishing a couple more things so I can open a store with at least a small selection. Oh and I need to find a place to rent a shop as well. Small details...

Anyway...I said I wouldn't write about anything but new stuff, and here I am writing a bloody novel.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog. Hope you enjoy what you see and if you have comments/advice etc, by all means, don't be shy. Drop me a note.

Toodles!
